Jaken Aviation · International planning

Business-aircraft financing, with the full picture.

Start with the aircraft, purchase stage and capital objective. Evaluate the complete structure, including the international parts of the transaction.

Acquisition and refinance discussions are transaction-specific. The borrower, aircraft, intended use, accepted value and terms matter. Public examples do not establish an available loan, approval or commitment.

Acquisition financing

Identify the candidate, purchase stage, approximate price and intended ownership/use. Separate negotiated price from the finance provider’s accepted value. Reconcile requested proceeds with the advance basis, actual buyer contribution, fees and remaining conditions. Credit a deposit only once.

For a pre-owned candidate, coordinate inspection, records, value, title, insurance and contractual acceptance. A delivery-stage purchase has its own payment and evidence milestones. Describe the actual stage rather than treating every acquisition as the same process.

Plan cash to close and prepare inspection questions.

Refinance an existing aircraft

Begin with a dated payoff, current rate/payment, remaining amortization and maturity, aircraft identity, condition and ownership/use. Describe the objective: payment relief, rate change, maturity planning or another need. Record any cash-out request separately.

Compare current debt with a proposal at the same hold. Include payoff charges, new cash and financed fees, payments and exit balances. Lower monthly payments can coexist with greater debt and a higher overall cost.

Compare refinance versus keep.

Understand amortization, maturity and payoff

Amortization sets the scheduled payment; maturity determines when remaining debt must be repaid. Ask about fees, payment dates, extra principal, prepayment, rate resets, guarantees and covenants. Record whether a rate is indicative, conditional or locked, its date and remaining conditions.

In a hypothetical case, $4 million at 8% nominal annual interest, paid monthly over 180 months, produces $38,226.08 scheduled payments. Maturity at month 60 leaves $3,150,650.40 after that payment. These numbers demonstrate a structure, not an offer. Future sale proceeds or refinancing remain uncertain.

Read the structure guide or compare proposals at one exit.

Make the international arrangement explicit

Record residence, entity formation, owner, borrower, guarantors, registry, operator, base and repayment currencies. Registration does not establish lender acceptance or permission to operate abroad. Obtain the appropriate specialist review.

Assign title/security, registry, export/destination, tax/customs, technical acceptance, flight authority and disbursement questions. Keep unresolved items in a responsibility matrix rather than relying on a general closing estimate.

Separate registry and operation · Prepare the closing checklist.

Plan ownership alongside financing

Build the budget from current crew, training, insurance, maintenance/program, hangar and management quotes. Identify events, transition costs and downtime. Principal is a cash obligation; do not also count it as an operating expense.

For non-USD income, stress closing funds and recurring debt service. Use explicit quote direction, dated assumptions and actual transfer costs. A public reference exchange rate is not a bank quote.

Build an operating budget · Stress repayment currency.

Prepare an initial scenario

Use a brief inquiry or the 15-question prequalification. Mark estimates and unknowns. Send summary information only, arranging a suitable secure process for supporting financial and identity records.
