Use current quotes and known event schedules. The monthly average does not predict when maintenance invoices fall due. These inputs are a teaching case, not an aircraft operating-cost estimate.
How this calculation works
Operating cash = annual fixed costs + hourly variable costs × annual hours + separately budgeted events. Divide by 12 for a monthly average and by hours for an average hourly amount. Add 12 months of entered debt service to show total annual cash needs.
Read the result in context
These are your assumptions, not model-specific operating estimates. Do not count program-covered maintenance twice. Zero hours still incurs fixed costs; hourly cost then has no useful denominator. Principal repayment is cash flow, not an additional economic expense.
Method version: November 3, 2026. Full precision is retained until display. USD amounts use two decimals; home-currency display also uses two decimals for comparison. Actual contracts may use other dates, rounding and interest conventions.
